Take a ride

We can’t get enough of Outrigger Noosa. Not just because it is located in a very special spot at the top of Little Hastings Street in Noosa, or that it has an awesome menu – from their fabulous restaurant View on Little Hastings, or that it supports local suppliers where possible, from Moya Valley chicken (the hinterland), Noosa Spanner Crab, Mooloolaba prawns, Strawberry Fields Strawberries (Palmview), to boutique craft beers, in particular ones that follow biodynamic principles; Outrigger Noosa are involved with the Noosa Biosphere. The Noosa biosphere “adopts an innovative approach to conservation and sustainability AND promotes a balanced relationship between humans and the reserve”.

One thing they are doing to lessen their footprint locally is introducing the Pedego branded super cool electric bikes, developed in California. The bikes have achieved cult status in the US with a number of celebrities spotted riding the retro-inspired cruisers, including Star Trek’s William Shatner, surfing great, Kelly Slater and even Aussie chef, Curtis Stone who now resides in the Golden State.

Outrigger Little Hastings Street offers a range of single and tandem cruisers that can travel up to 50 kilometres from one single charge of the lithium battery.

The environmentally friendly bikes are a natural fit for Outrigger which has an official green star rating: they are whisper quiet and can reach speeds of 25 kilometres per hour before the pedal assisted motor cuts out, enabling riders to pedal under their own steam.

Noosa is an ideal region for guests to explore which includes the natural gems of Noosa Spit and North Shore, then down along the river pathways to Noosaville and into the national park.

Outrigger are also able to provide picnic backpacks filled with regional produce and after a day of discovery, the bikes will take the load off tired bodies on the last leg of the journey up to the resort’s 5-star facilities, beside Noosa National Park.]

What a perfect way to get around Noosa! Love it!
